Any employment decision that is based on an individual's race, sex, national origin, religion, disability, or any other characteristic is considered discrimination. Not only does this happen in the confines of the workplace, but also in any aspect of society. Despite the laws that we have on the federal and state levels, as well as employers promoting equal opportunity for all, incidents that involve unfair treatment of employees and applicants still happen.
