Novello Theatre was built at a time when theatres were at a boom in London. Numerous of them were erected in the period as independent ones, in pairs and in twins. Novello was one such venue that was built as a pair along with the Aldwych Theatre. Both these structures were designed by W.G.R. Sprague and the Waldorf hotel stood between both the houses.
